Private Tour of Newly-Expanded Glenstone Museum, Rockville, MD

30 CWC members toured the newly-expanded Glenstone, the art museum located in Potomac, MD, on 230 acres of woodland and pasture that is the creation of Mitch and Emily Rales. Originally opened as a gallery in 2006, the museum just underwent an expansion that increased its exhibition space more than five-fold, with the addition of the Pavillions, a gathering of interconnected galleries with an inaugural display that will "catapult the museum to the front rank of privately owned art museums worldwide," and that is borne out of the founders' goal to "create one of the largest, richest, and most ambitious new cultural organizations in the world," according to the Washington Post.
