Before hours tour of Kreeger Museum, led by Director Helen Chason

A special before-hours, director-led tour of one of Washington D.C.'s cultural treasures. Designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Philip Johnson as the residence of Carmen and David Lloyd Kreeger, the museum was built on 5 and a half wooded acres and is among the very few examples of Philip Johnson architecture in the city. The collection is comprised of works from the 1850s to the present with an emphasis on contemporary painting and sculpture, Impressionism and Modern Europeanism and featuring works by Sam Gilliam, James Rosenquist, Frank Stella, Picasso, Paul Cezanne, and Juan Miro. Contemporary artists on display in the Sculpture Garden include Kendall Buster, Dalya Luttwak and Foon Sham.
